Appreciate The Beauty of Art in Fort Wayne Museum of Art

In the museum’s early years, J. Ottis Adams and William Forsyth taught drawing and painting lessons. Both artists became regional influences after studying at Munich’s Royal Academy. The Fort Wayne Art School was founded in 1897. Despite limited financing and multiple moves, the Art School thrived for 20 years.

It is through these exhibitions that the Fort Wayne Museum of Art displays, acquires, and protects American decorative and fine art from all around the world. Exhibits from both the museum’s own holdings and those from other institutions are rotated throughout the museum. In the lending library of the museum, visitors, students, and academics can borrow from more than 8,000 volumes on art and culture. 75 national and regional artists working in a variety of media are represented in the museum’s Paradigm Gallery shop.
